Our Story
Lower Belford Lodge stands proudly on a parcel of some of the most historically significant land in the Hunter Valley. Once the site of the very first vineyards planted in Australia by James Busby, the grandfather of the Australian wine industry, this iconic piece of Hunter Valley land is now rolling pastures and parkland, with stands of iron bark and gum trees, and far-reaching views over the valley to the Hunter River and the Barrington Tops beyond.
